Israel: 15,000 Traveling to Uman - 80 Flights

Airport Authority officials are preparing for he rush that accompanies the pre-Tishrei travel season, including an expected 15,000 people heading for Uman, to be at the kever of Rav Nachman on Rosh Hashanah. 80 flights are scheduled to accommodate the large number of travelers. In addition, extra flights have been added to accommodate a large number of Chabad Chassidim traveling to New York City, where they will spend Rosh Hashanah in ?770�.

A special instruction sheet was distributed to travelers to Uman, addressing the effort to expedite security inspections and eliminate many security concerns. Travelers will only be permitted one suitcase and one carton, which may not exceed 50 X 50 X 50. The two items may not exceed a total weight of 20kg (44 lbs). In addition, the security inspections for travelers will begin 4 hours before takeoff.

Officials add there are two shuls, but if larger groups wish to daven together, they are requested to contact airport officials and arrange for such an area to be placed at their disposal.
