Thursday 15:29IL: According to limited information released a short time ago, 12 Israelis are being held hostage by 300 Chinese in the Caicos and Turks Islands. The Israelis being held were apparently part of a team working on a construction site for a major tourism project.
It appears the global economic crisis played a role in this developing story. A bank collapse has led to the cancellation of the project. The Chinese workers believe they will not be paid and have taken the Israelis hostage demanding ransom for their release.
