Chabad House Kedoshim Recognized as Terror Victims

The Israeli governments Ministerial Committee for Symbols & Ceremonies convened on Sunday, at which time it decided the Israeli victims of the Mumbai attack will be recognized as ?victims of terror by the Government of Israel.

The move is a significant one, entitling the families to assistance in many areas, including undertaking the cost of bringing them home for burial in Eretz Yisrael.

Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni also announced Israel is working to bring Sandra Samuel to Israel. Sandra is the nanny who saved the life of little 2-year-old Moshe Holtzberg.

Mumbai officials report that one terrorist was apprehended alive, Azzam Amir Kasab, who told authorities they tried to strike at as many Israelis as possible to "avenge the suffering of the Palestinians? the Times of India reports.

Israeli media quoting sources in India state that some of the terrorists were even staying in the Chabad House, posing as students from Malaysia. Investigators are seeking to understand why they rented rooms to non-Jews, looking for the registration log to hopefully understand what took place.

Authorities are also reporting that at least 5 local residents assisted the terrorists, providing them with lodging, assisting them to become familiar with the area, and reporting to them regarding the habits of local police. Police recovered the bodies of 10 terrorists, but believe there are at least one or two more at large. They also report they found forged identity cards and credit cards on their bodies. Other conflicting reports from India state there were a total of 10 terrorists, nine were killed and one is in custody.
