Rofeh Cholim Cancer Society (RCCS) will be hosting its inaugural Flatbush dinner Tonight. Although this is its first formal dinner in Flatbush, RCCS has been actively involved in providing essential services to needy cancer-stricken families in our community for over 10 years. In addition to its primary mission of funding health insurance premiums for cancer patients who, for one reason or another, are unable to maintain the cost of the most appropriate policy for their condition, RCCS has recently become active in insurance advocacy and has recovered over $1.5m in previously denied coverage in the past 6 months alone.
RCCS currently funds insurance premiums for 300 patients, including 30 living in Flatbush. The total cost of the Flatbush premiums is approximately $500k a year. Needless to say, it would be a tremendous zechus for our families and community were we to support at least that portion of the over $5m overall annual budget. All levels of participation are welcome and encouraged.
Equally as important (and appreciated) as financial support is your attendance at the dinner. Please help us show support to the community we help. We have made every effort to streamline the program and make it as enjoyable and informative as possible. We have also arranged for convenient self-parking.
