This is the first fatality suffered by Israel since it launched its massive ground operation on Motzei Shabbos�against Hamas terrorists in Gaza.
According to AP reports, another IDF soldier was critically wounded Sunday in heavy gunfighting with Hamas terrorists.
The soldier's family has been informed of his condition.
