7:50PM EST: The New Jersey State Police have stopped a car on the N.J. Turnpike and are sending a bomb squad to investigate a report of a young man carrying an explosive device to the inauguration in Washington, D.C.
The�police investigation on the New Jersey Turnpike in Runnemede has closed a 25-mile stretch of the highway. State police pulled over the vehicle by Interchange 3 in South Jersey at 6:30 p.m.
The investigation has grown, and the turnpike is now shut down southbound at Interchange 4 and Northbound at Interchange 1. The stretch of roadway runs between Mount Laurel Township and the Delaware Memorial Bridge.
The FBI, State police and NJ Turnpike Authority are investigating.
The identity of the suspect has not been released. Police said he is 27 years old, 6 feet tall and from Sturbridge, Mass. They said he left his home at about 10 a.m. Tuesday.
According�to WPVI-TV in Philadelphia, police received a word that the vehicle may have been carrying an explosive, possibly a threat, against President Barack Obama.
The suspect has been taken into custody and taken to the Moorestown Barracks, and a state police spokesman will only say they are looking into "some accusations."
