One suspects was arrested in Yerushalayim on Sunday, apparently in connection with the drug case that has left three yeshiva bochrim behind bars in Japan.
Three bochrim, residents of Yerushalayim and Bnei Brak were imprisoned in Japan after authorities found drugs in a double-walled suitcase they were carrying. The boys, who were duped into unknowingly becoming drug couriers, are standing trial in Japan. Authorities are unwilling to show leniency due to the amount of drugs found in their possession. It appears that as the case advances in Japan, police in Israel have been compelled to arrest suspects in Israel believed linked to the case.
Early Sunday morning, detectives from Tel Aviv appeared in the Orange Cell Phone Company's main Jerusalem center in Givat Shaul disguised as service representatives. One employee reports that suddenly, six men jumped a large male, placing him in handcuffs and removing him from the area.
The suspect was remanded until Sunday by the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court on Monday morning.
It is possible that there will be additional arrests in the coming days.
No additional information is available at this time.
